Annual lamb cake decorating with Nona
Hi everyone! It is the day before Easter and that means one thing…….my annual lamb cake decorating day with Nona. I love this day! Nona makes a lamb cake for Easter every year and I get to be the chief decorator! And this year, in addition to the cake, Nona made easter egg cookies that we decorated with all the same ingredients as the lamb cake. I’m so excited to show you!

Mom came with me to Nona and Baba’s house today to decorate, although she wasn’t allowed to help (this is my time with Nona!). First, we had to gather all of the ingredients. Nona baked the cake on Friday so that it would be cool enough for me to decorate today. We used icing, coconut, grass, jelly beans and lots and LOTS of peeps. We even tied a yellow bow around the lambs neck and I added earrings (lemon jelly beans!)

Nona and I love to decorate this cake together every year. Its our tradition. Mom says traditions are really important to our family, and I think she is right. Want to see my finished lamb cake and cookies? Take a look!!

What kind of Easter traditions do you have with your family? If you decorate a cake or cookies or eggs, send me a picture, I’d love to see it!
Cool. Really neat photos, looks like a ton of fun.
This looks like tons of fun and I bet Nona is a great cook!
She totally is! We have family breakfast every Sunday and she makes the best desserts!
It’s great to see family spending time together during the holidays! I am getting married soon and would love to think starting a family soon. It would be great to have an yearly special tradition with loved ones!
Sounds like a wonderful time 🙂 Happy Easter.
I have my Grandma s lamb and bunny molds in a place of honor in my kitchen but they re there for decorative purposes only because my experiments to recreate her cakes were disasters.
Awe, I am sure she loves that you have her molds on display all the time. Doesn’t it remind you of memories and fun times?!
Yes, it does. So much 🙂
